For many of the projects LWOB undertakes, it is necessary to translate various laws of a given country into English. This enables LWOB to bring analytical skills of lawyers from around the world to the project, overcoming all language limitations. Lawyers working Pro Bono have suggested that having taken on the sometimes formidable task of translating large bodies of law into English, we should take that knowledge and post it to the web where other lawyers working on the same topic or on legal issues of a given country can have the benefit of the financial investment required to translate the laws into English.
Therefore LWOB has launched this portion of its site which will become the portal for any and all laws LWOB identifies in English. Where possible, LWOB will credit the firm which underwrote the costs for the translation. Where LWOB bore the cost of the translation and itself owns the copyright, that will be indicated with an asterisk.
Questions regarding copyright and reprint permission should be directed to LWOB. Neither LWOB nor any of its supporting partner, makes any representation as to the reliability of the translations and to the extent that any lawyer will be working with the laws you are urged in the strongest terms to work with the original work in its original language. These translations are provided for informational purposes only and are expressly not to be relied upon for any purpose whatsoever.
