Joseph A Loy

Joseph A Loy is a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in New York. He is an intellectual property trial lawyer whose practice includes high-stakes patent and trade secret disputes before federal trial and appellate courts nationwide. Following law school, Mr. Loy was a law clerk to the Hon. Kiyo Matsumoto of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York in Brooklyn. He is actively engaged in pro bono matters that have included the successful representation of many refugees fleeing persecution. He has served as Special Assistant District Attorney for the Kings County District Attorney's Office and Special Assistant Corporation Counsel for the Law Department of the City of New York.

Joe received an MPA from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a JD from New York University’s School of Law. Prior to graduate school, Joe served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in The Gambia, West Africa.
